SILVER AND SABLE combines the best of two of the breed’s most powerful breeding programs: that of John Rogers (who bred her dam and her sire’s maternal grandsire) and Cedardell, whose success began in the early 1940s and continues in the 21^st century (her sire’s granddam is of Cedardell breeding).   She has two lines to *SERAFIX, the all time leading Crabbet sire of champions, as well as two lines to *WITEZ II, the post World War II import who was both a successful show horse (Pacific Coast Champion Stallion) and sire (16 National winners and 35 producers of National winners).

SEY CHERIE++’s dam NOELLE comes from the superb Cedardell breeding program, the first American program to produce three U.S. National Champion Mares, and the first American breeder to have both the U.S. National Champion Stallion and Mare in the same year. NOELLE also produced champion producer HABALA, performance champion RAHJO-T and halter and performance champion MOCHA-T+++, the latter two full blood siblings to SEY CHERIE++. Her dam is our Chief Justice daughter, Silver and Sable who is an Aristocrat Mare and a winner in Halter, Driving and English Pleasure.  Silver and Sable is out of Heartland's beautiful mare NZ Silver Alicia. This is a beautiful young mare who is conformationally correct with remarkable presence.

"Emma" is maturing beautifully and becoming more
elegant every year.  We put 60 days of halter training on her and debuted her at the 2006 MN Fall Fest Three and Over Mares class, where she captured the Reserve Championship.  She has just been added to our broodmare band and will be bred to an outside stallion this spring.

We think this is just about as good as it gets! 

This filly IS First Cyte!  Her dam is Klassic, a leading living dam of champions.  DQ" is a dark bay, with a smooth top line, beautiful hip and gorgeous face! She moves just like her sire, and has his neck.  She can "hook a look" that has you swearing you are looking at First Cyte.  Show attitude to spare earned her the name Drama Qyeen!

We had heard from some breeders that a special foal is special from the second it arrives.  After the birth of Drama Qyeen we believe it.  Klassic, her Dam, is an older mare and arthritic. In the last months of her pregnancy she had trouble getting up and down, so as her due date approached we were watching the camera in her stall pretty much non-stop.  We never saw her water break, but when she went down we all went racing down the driveway toward the main barn.

Klassic delivered quickly and with no complications, and we were wildly delighted with her bay filly.  Klassic rested a long time before getting up.  The filly however, was struggling to get up after five minutes.  It was an interesting sight.  "Mom" was resting and "Baby" was flopping all over the stall.  Finally, Klassic got up and within ten minutes the filly was on her feet. 

The foal assumed the nursing position almost instantly and then had a minor meltdown because she couldn't figure out the nursing process.  So she kicked at her mother, bounced around the stall, tried again and kicked her mother a second time.  Donna went in the stall to restore a little order and got a "talking to" by this pint sized princess.  She turned to the rest of us and said, "What a little drama queen!".................  And we all smiled.

Harleqyin looks like a carbon copy of First Cyte. Her dam is Klassic.  Dark bay, with a small star and two half socks on her front feet.  She is upright, very long necked and can "hook a look" that is freaky.  This filly has a big trot and one of the most exquisite faces you've ever seen.  She has a DEEP dish with huge eyes. 

Harley will spend her two year old year at the farm, then be campaigned again her futurity year.  We will be proud to add this exciting filly to our broodmare band in the spring of 2008.
